5-0 out of 5 stars Great home laminator, April 1, 2009
I purchased this laminating machine in a store, but wanted to give a definite positive review! I have had this machine running since I got it, and just love it! It's simple to use, works wonderfully and doesnt' take up a ton of space. I have a special needs toddler, who uses picture cards to communicate her needs, and this has made over 100 PECS cards for her book, and now she's even taking them to Pre-k to use them as well! Wonderful machine that is making my little one's life so much better! I am also having tons of fun using it for my small business for price lists and advertising! Great little machine!

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Laminator, September 19, 2008
Good all-purpose laminator for the price. Needed to run through a couple of times for thicker sheets. But I am happy with the product. I laminated 75 schedule cards in a row without a breakdown. A good deal.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent customer service - great product, June 21, 2010
This is a great little laminator, and I've used it even more than expected. But during a momentary lapse of reason, I tried to use a partial pouch - one that was not sealed on the bottom. They tell you not to do it, but I did anyway. Everything disappeared into the machine, and didn't come back out. It didn't look like I could open it up without destroying it, so I called their 800 number. They were so nice, and they sent me a mailing label to ship it back for free. They said that if they could fix it, they would do so and send it back. If they couldn't, they would send me a new one. All free of charge - which is incredible since it was my own fault for doing what they said not to do. I just got a new one in the mail. I only paid $30 for this, yet they replaced it free of charge when I messed it up. You just can't do any better than that!

5-0 out of 5 stars Good little home machine!, December 31, 2008
I've been using a small card size thermal laminator to make cards, bookmarks and jewelry with for a few years now. A friend of mine gave me this one for my birthday as an upgrade.
I love it. It takes about 10 minutes to be ready and has an indicator light to show it's hot enough. A double roller system sends your document through the laminator smoothly at the right speed.
It's built for 3mm and 5mm lamination pouches which is fine for home and home office use.
If you do get a jam, the unit has a release button to pull out the document and unjam the machine.
It's very simple to use, intuitive but it also is illustrated with how to feed your document in as well. You put whatever your laminating into a sleeve then put it into the paper feed in the back of the machine.
There are 2 heat settings. One for 3mm and one for 5. It handles US Letter sized items easily.
    Possible craft uses:
I use mine for jewelry, cutting out small images and sealing them into small pouches for less waste. After lamination, cut around the image leaving a margin of the clear laminate, use a small punch to make a hole and attach to jump ring
bookmarks- pressed flowers make wonderful mementos of special days out
    recipe cards
    dry erase boards
use in duct tape crafts with nice images. A couple comic book pages laminated can be taped together to make a very unique purse.
It's a good home laminator for home office and craft use.
Because of the 10 minute warm up time, I recommend having a few projects ready to go at a time so you can just do them all at once after the unit is heated.

5-0 out of 5 stars Works just as expected, December 4, 2008
This is a great laminator, works well for my use, which is occasional. I think I've used this about 3 times a week since I purchased it, and it works just as I expected it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Buy!, August 4, 2010
I snagged this bad boy on a Lightning Deal for 20 bucks this weekend. It arrived yesterday (thank you Amazon Prime!). As soon as I got it, I set it up and used it a few times and I must say, I'm very, very impressed. This is easily worth the full price, so even more excited I got it for 20 bucks. Setup took less than a minute ... just take it out of the box and snap the feeder tray into place. That's it! Heating up took appx 5 minutes. I fed a couple items through and it is absolutely silent. I mean NO noise whatsoever when it's laminating. It autofeeds the item through and takes less than 30 seconds to spit it out the other side. The laminating looked very professional. I could not be happier with this purchase. Highly recommend!

5-0 out of 5 stars LOVE IT!, March 24, 2009
I did not buy this from this seller. However, I love this laminator. Most are far more costly than this one. This one is great for personal use. I laminate pictures, my daughter's art projects, etc. It does take about 3 minutes to be "ready" but for the price that is fine with me.

5-0 out of 5 stars very good and fun, easy to use and operate, recommended, November 7, 2008
I use it to laminate my kids art works and all those certificates, it is very to use and operate and it's fun too.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very good little laminator, October 8, 2009
I needed a laminator to make some ID cards for a club. After looking at a few models here and reading comments, this one looked like a good pick. So far, so good. I have only used it a couple of weeks for about 25 cards, in conjuction with the Fellowes 7 mil business card pouches. This model has a switch for 3 or 5 mil, so of course I used the 5 mil setting and it's working fine. It takes a minute or two to warm up fully, and then the cards run through in just a few seconds. I did have to prop it up a bit to give a little "gravity assist" so that the cards would drop out. I haven't run anything bigger throught it either, so can't speak to that. But for small projects this looks like a very handy device that works well. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Way better than I expected!, January 25, 2008
This is a cheap laser. I guess you get what you pay for. Mine stopped working after about 40 days. The vendor would not exchange or refund because they said it was only a 30 day warranty even though it says 90 days on Amazon.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Value, August 30, 2007
Maybe I got a bad apple, but the one I received works only half the time. It does not work with rechargeable batteries. I think it must be shorting out a little bit... maybe I should open it up and look at it.

The seller offers exchanges or refunds within first 15 days, AS LONG AS YOU HAVE THE ORIGINAL PACKAGING. I threw out the packaging right away - a big mistake I guess. I recommend holding onto it for a little while.

    1-0 out of 5 stars Not a good value, April 4, 2009
At this price I bought two. One worked for a few days, the second the green dot was so small it was useless. The price is tempting, but I'd recommend trying a different model even if it means spending a little more.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Quality Pointer, January 8, 2008
Do not buy this item. I read the reviews and saw that some were failing after a few weeks, but I took the chances, hoping I would get a good one. Even for only $15 it was a mistake. My laser stopped working after about a month. The manufacturer would not replace/refund.

Laser is cool, but to many duds. Not worth the risk. ... Read more

Blue lasers are on the cutting edge of consumer laser pointers. This beautiful blue-violet laser is more pleasing to look at than red or green! Please note, because the human eye is more sensitive to green than to blue, this laser pointer will appear less bright than a similar green one. However, the milliwatt output is factory-calibrated and accurate. In daylight or bright places, the blue laser will be more difficult to see. In darkness, it is still bright and perfect for use in presentations. In fact, it is not "too bright" to look at like some green lasers! ... Read more

While you can always use this bright, 30 milliwatt laser pointer in a usual manner, you can also switch out the screw-on heads and make beautiful geometric patterns, too. Keeps your pets and your friends entertained! They're also fun for long-exposure photography. Draw something with the laser and capture the image forever with a camera! 5-0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I hoped for, August 26, 2009

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
I own a Kensington 33374, the predecessor to this product and one of the most popular wireless presenters on Amazon. As I wrote in my 4-star review of that device back in March of this year: "One way that Kensington could make their next model more useful would be for the USB adapter to double as a thumbdrive. Since you'll be plugging it into the host computer anyway, why not put your presentation on it?"

    My prayers were answered.

This model is practically identical to its predecessor; why mess with a good design? (The 33374 currently has 152 customer reviews averaging 4.5 stars.) It lacks the heft, chrome and fancy features of high-end presenter models--there are no programmable buttons, no mousing capability--but has all of the basics down pat: Just plug the tiny USB dongle into the computer you want to use (there are no drivers needed on any recent version of Windows or Mac OS X), then use the left and right arrows to flip from slide to slide and the top arrow to point a bright red laser point. (The lower button toggles blackout mode in PowerPoint, which is nice if you want to focus your audience's attention on something other than the slides for a moment.) It's simple, comfortable--and now it has 1GB of storage, enough for hundreds of ordinary PowerPoint presentations. The design is also slightly improved by replacing the distracting flash of metal around the controls with a high-contrast black color.

Any downsides? The price point is significantly higher, so you should think about whether the convenience of the built-in memory is worth it. One of the great features of the device is that the USB dongle slides right in when it's not in use. Some people keep a USB thumbdrive on them at all times. If you do, and if the computers you're going to be presenting on are sure to have 2 open USB ports, then you could save yourself a few bucks with the older model. But if you enjoy having everything in one single, simple package, then the premium is well worth it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good: Simple, elegant, ergonomic....Bad: Price, August 31, 2009

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
I love well designed products that have a clear functional target and meet it. This item does that. It is so hard sometimes for designers and marketers to keep from throwing extras that end up cluttering up the usefulness of something. This presentation tool is simple, elegant, and does what it needs to do very well.

Simple: When I am walking a group through a presentation, the last thing I want is to fumble finger some complicated remote. I've got my mind on a million other things and want SIMPLE technology that WORKS. From trying this with my laptop, the install was simple (plug in the USB receiver), the response is quick, and the buttons are obvious (other than the button that looks like a stop which is actually a black screen, but use this once and you got it). Simple.

Elegant: Each piece of functional design on this device is well done. Having on-board memory with the USB receiver is smart thinking. Storing the receiver in the device and at the same time, using that as a means to toggle the device on and off is clean, well thought out design. The tactile feel and heft just feels good.

Ergonomic: 4 buttons, each with a solid use to a presenter: forward, back, laser, and screen blank is all that is needed and is all that is present. Nice. As someone who does loads of presentations, that's all you need until you get into the realm of an air mouse Logitech MX Air Rechargeable Cordless Air Mouse). I have large hands and don't want something the size of a car remote, this device feels comfortable in my hands without being too large and clunky.

    The Bad:
So, why the 3 stars? There is just no getting around the price of this item. At the time of the review, the price is way too high. Price it around $35 (less than half the current price) and many people would be looking at this. A few more dollars over the current price and you have an air mouse, much more functionality. Heck, you can get a Kensington mouse with similar wireless functionality for presentations (no memory though) that is less than half the price... Kensington SlimBlade Presenter Mouse, Wireless Mouse and Presenter in One (Ice Blue) K72283US. Oh, and the manual is just horrible. Trying to put all the languages after each other is so bad, confusing, and useless that I am astounded that anyone at Kensington agreed to print it. Thankfully the manual is not a reflection of their product.

So, while I would like to shake the hands of the design team, either they put way too expensive components in this device or the pricing team for Kensington bumped their heads one too many times. No way does the current price point make sense.

    Pros:
    - simple, easy to use functionality that works
    - well thought out design
    - great heft and feel to it
    - USB memory is nice

    Neutral:
    - laser is ok, but would be GREAT if it were the green ones out now

    Cons:
    - price
    - terrible manual
    - price

3-0 out of 5 stars Good little remote control for your Windows Powerpoint Presentations, August 26, 2009

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
When I received the Kensington Wireless Presenter, I was hoping it would help me with my Powerpoint Presentations which I give to my students. I'm an elementary school librarian, and often have to sit desk-bound behind the children while they watch the screen and instruct them while they are facing away from me. This "wireless presenter" (which is simply a combined remote control/laser pointer) is very handy in allowing me to stand in front of the children, by the screen and point and click my way through Powerpoint presentations without having to stand by the computer. Simply load the presentation onto the flash-drive which is included, start the presentation from the flash-drive, and then direct it forward or back using the remote. The cost for this presenter is the sticking point, $75 - my computer specialist here at school bought several wireless mouses (with laser pointers) for teachers at her other school for a mere $45, and it not only could do everything this remote could do, it also was a mouse for the computer. Cheaper, and more useful all around. The instructions included are next to useless (in eleven different languages!) but it's a simple device, and even computer novices should have little trouble in figuring it out.

4-0 out of 5 stars Simple. Decent range. Expensive., August 20, 2009

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
Pros: I like this wireless presenter a whole lot. It works well with Vista and OSX 10.5.x, Keynote & Office, out of the box, has good wireless range (tested at 20+ ft). Having the built-in laser pointer is useful. Simple four-button design - start, forward, backward and stop - minimizes confusion. The pointer has a docking pod for the USB receiver, which conveniently deactivates laser pointer when the receiver is in place. Now, I don't have to carry a laser pointer, the Apple control, and a thumb drive.

Cons: For the price $75 on Amazon, it should have a nicer design and larger storage capacity, and function as a wireless air mouse.
Admittedly, I am biased toward the Apple brushed aluminum uniblock design. Hence, I feel that, for $75, this product should feel solid in my hand as a high-end item, not some cheap rubberized plasticky stuff. The size is also a little bulky for my taste. I know 1 GB is capacious for PPT presentations; but flash memory is cheap. This product should have 4+GB, preferentially 8+GB to minimize having to carry another thumb drive. The four functions / four buttons design may work well with old-school slides. For graphic / video intensive slides, the functional deficiency starts to show. If this is a $25-dollar item, that would be acceptable. However, for $75, air mouse functionality should be built-in. So you can control your embedded video from afar, instead of having to return to the podium; that would defeat the purpose of the purported 60 ft range.

Final recommendation: excellent purchase for $25. Not more than that. Kensington should improve design / capacity / functionality for next version.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Presenter for Power Point or PDF Presentations, January 21, 2010

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
The Kensington Wireless Presenter is a brilliant design that makes presenting a lot easier. I have been using the Kensington Wireless Presenter for several weeks and I am very pleased with it. I deliver presentations using Power Point or Adobe Acrobat at least once a week. Prior to receiving the Kensington Wireless Presenter, I would load my presentation files onto a general purpose memory stick or store them on my laptop and press keys on my laptop to advance the slides, all of which worked will enough. But, now that I am using the Kensington Wireless Presenter, delivering presentations is much easier because I can store presentations on the USB drive and I am no longer tied to a keyboard to advance the presentation slides.

The Kensington Wireless Presenter is plug and play with Windows and therefore setup on your computer is very easy. I use Windows XP Pro and my computers recognized the USB drive when I inserted it into a USB port and after a few seconds, the presenter was ready to be used. I also really like the way that the laser pointer only works if the USB drive is connected to your computer, reducing the risk of accidentally draining the batteries while the presenter is in your bag.

I use the Kensington Wireless Presenter both with Power Point and PDF files and it works well for both. A nice feature for Power Point is that there is a stop button on the presenter which causes the screen to go blank if you are using Power Point. Great if you want to have the slides ready but not showing before your presentation.

The presenter is comfortable to hold and easy to use. I highly recommend the Kensington Wireless Presenter if you make presentations and want an all-in-one device to make the delivery a lot easier.

This is a wireless laser pointer for use in presentation, and an upgrade to the Kensington 33374 Wireless Presenter with Laser Pointer. The only differences I can tell between these two, is that this model comes with 1Gb of built in storage space on the USB stick, and is advertised as having a 30 foot range compared to 60 feet for the 33374. All of Kensington's wireless pointers come with a USB stick for communication with the computer, so it makes sense that it should also be able to double as storage for your actual presentation. This is really a feature that should have been on all of their pointers and it's about time they added it. My problem with it, is that I don't feel it justifies the increase in price over the 33374. I don't want to focus on price too much since that can always change and a review should be about the product, but before purchasing this model, the budget-conscious should consider whether it is worth it, or if they should just buy the Kensington 33374 Wireless Presenter with Laser Pointer (especially given how cheap USB drives are now).

As to the function of the pointer itself, I found it worked pretty well. I used it in a mock presentation and had no problems with it. Kensington's web site claims it operates up to 30 feet away. From my tests, I found it to work reliably up to 42 feet. Anything after that, and I would occasionally have stuttering in response time. I was able to get up to 60 feet away and still have it function, although with limited success. The 4 buttons work well and integrate nicely with Microsoft PowerPoint, which is the only program I tried it with. I didn't really care for the form factor of the pointer, but it does fit nicely in my hand and is not too heavy, so I didn't notice it while speaking. I love the way the USB receiver fits inside the actual remote, so you only have one object to carry with you and don't have to keep up with a small USB drive. It fits securely and does not feel like it will easily come out.

One of my main gripes about the presenter though is the size of the USB. 1Gb is way too small, and it should at least be 4GB. It is unlikely that many people's presentations will actually need more than 1 Gb, but it would be nice to at least have the option, given how cheap flash drives are now.

    3-0 out of 5 stars Good & Bad, August 17, 2010
I ordered this product in the 11th hour and Amazon came thru with a Saturday morning delivery. Great service! Having ordered a different pointer, I found the "other" one to be small, and it would rotate in my hand so it was difficult to use. This pointer feels great in my hand. I am able to hang on to it, and can easily find the presentation buttons without having to look down at the pointer. Very comfortable to hold.

I received complaints from attendees regarding the quality of the laser. It's not bright or bold enough for attendees to immediately find where I am pointing on my presentation. Dissapointment.

While I like the idea of the USB 1 GB Memory stick which inserts into the base for storage and turning OFF the pointer, it is NOT a feature I ended up liking. In four days I went thru 4 batteries (2-AA batteries each). They say the batteries should last a year. To get the stick out of the base, you must push in, for it to pop out. While the pointer was in my briefcase, the stick released, causing the batteries to be activated. I now have to take out the batteries after every presentation to ensure the life of my batteries. UGH! What a time stealer.

Come on Kensington, step up and make these minimal improvements and you would have an outstanding pointer.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great product for work and school, June 8, 2010

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
What a great idea to combine a wireless remote presenter / laser pointer with a 1 GB memory card that will hold your presentations! This is fantastic for work, I can drop my presentation onto the included 1 GB USB card and plug into any laptop rather than having to lug my laptop to meetings. I can control the PowerPoint using the remote conrol and use the laser pointer as well. A great all-in-one product. The remote is comfortable to hold in your hand - not overly bulky or too small (where you can't see/hit the buttons easily). I like that it takes 2 AAA batteries and does not have to be recharged; the batteries last a pretty long time (similar to a remote control at home) and do not need replacing often.

A lot of reviews balk at the price and by all means, if you do not need the included 1 GB memory card then try the previous model (33374) and save the ~$10. However for the extra cost, I would certainly get this model to have the option of having the USB storage. You do need to plug in the USB to the laptop anyways for the "wireless feature". If 1 GB is not sufficient storage space, it might be worth it to combine the 33374 model with a pen drive - you can get a 4 GB thumb drive for around $11. But the downside is that it's an extra thing to carry and an extra USB port to occupy. If you've got the wireless presenter, a wireless mouse and a wireless USB drive, you start filling up those USB ports pretty quickly.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good for the business pro, September 24, 2009

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
As someone who regularly makes presentations -- and carries a flash drive, which I frequently lose -- I found this presenter very novel and useful. The pointer shape is comfortable, not too big or two small.

Two possible improvements that I've noted:

1 - I would much prefer more storage space. I can quickly approach 1G by storing only one presentation, which for me is a large slide decks, images, and audio & video files.

2 - Some sort of storage case would be nice. Something to protect the device when I throw it in my bag.

5-0 out of 5 stars outstanding basic presenter, great design, Mac and PC compatible out of the box, September 17, 2009

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
This is one of those designs that when you use it, you have to ask "why didn't someone think of that earlier?"

I've used a lot of wireless presenters over the years, and this one is hands-down the best, as long as you don't need more than simple controls. If you're just giving presentations, in my opinion, you can't find a better solution.

The Kensington Wireless Presenter is a great design:
    - provides 3 buttons (reverse, forward, blank display) as well as a laser pointer
    - it's EXTREMELY comfortable: it's solid, contoured to your hand, with a rubberized finish that doesn't attract fingerprints or easily slip from your hand
    - it connects to your Mac or PC via a USB dongle that also has 1GB of flash storage for transferring presentations
    - the USB dongle stores inside the presenter body: this also acts as the power switch - when you remove the dongle, it powers on the presenter
    - it uses RF technology, so you can be up to 60 feet away from your laptop (although I wasn't able to test the real range)
    - it uses 2 AAA batteries (included) which Kensington claims should last up to a year of avg use
    - out of the box, no drivers are required in either Mac or PC (not all presenters are Mac-compatible), it actually simulates an additional USB keyboard, with 3 keys: left arrow, right arrow, and B (blank display)
    - GREAT value for the price

    What could be improved?
    - 1GB of storage is pretty small by today's standards - I assume that Kensington will eventually refresh the product with higher capacity
    - the buttons do NOT auto-repeat if you hold them down, so you must click each time to quickly advance back and forth; this can be painful on a slide with lots of animations
    - there is no option to map keys if you need to ... to be fair, both PowerPoint (Mac & PC) and Keynote (Mac) worked fine in my tests
    - my unit arrived with dead batteries, not a big deal but initially a new replacement set of batteries didn't work either - eventually i got the unit to turn on. Perhaps just a glitch with the power switch, but hopefully it doesn't give problems down the road. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Works great - Some tips for use, October 23, 2007
Plug it in and go. Used weekly with Windows XP for four months so far no problems. Range is at least 30 feet, very reliable. Note that a slide switch on the side turns it off to conserve the battery.

How it works: it talks to the computer as if it's a keyboard. But the only keystrokes it can send are: PageUp (the left button), PageDown (the right button), B (the bottom button), and Alt+Esc (the top button). (The red middle button is the laser pointer.)

The bottom button is like hitting the B key, which in a PowerPoint slideshow toggles a black screen, useful for momentarily hiding a slide. (By the way, W goes to a white screen if you're using a full keyboard; the remote doesn't have a button for that.)

IF YOU HAVE OTHER PROGRAMS OPEN: This remote doesn't have any magical connection to PowerPoint; it's just a mini keyboard. So it won't affect PowerPoint unless the PowerPoint slideshow window is the "active" window. If another program is running and is selected, you'll just scroll it up and down and type a lot of "B"s, same as if you pressed PageDown and B on your regular keyboard.

That's where the top button comes in. In Windows XP, pressing Alt+Esc cycles focus between all open applications in the taskbar. (It cycles through in the order they were last "active", not necessarily the order they appear on the task bar.) In other words, the top button on the remote is basically a "switch between open programs" button. So if your "next slide" button isn't working, it may be bcause a different window is selected. Don't panic and don't immediately assume the battery is dead. First make sure the power switch on the side is on. Then just alternately press the "next window" (top) and "next slide" (right) buttons until the slide changes.

IF YOU USE DUAL-DISPLAY "PRESENTER VIEW":
Presenter view opens in another window, separate from the slideshow (and separate from the main PowerPoint window where the file can be editted). The left and right arrow keys function as previous and next slide when either of those windows (Presenter view or slideshow itself) is active. But PageUp and PageDown (which is what the remote's buttons are) only work on the slideshow window, not the Presenter window (in Presenter, PageUp and PageDown scroll through notes for the current slide). That means that if you have clicked the Presenter window then it will be the active window, and the previous and next slide buttons on the remote will not work until you re-select the slideshow window (which you can do using the top button as described above).

    ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

If you're not afraid to delve a bit deeper into Windows, you can eliminate the chance for any confusion or delay the Presenter/PageDown issue might cause by remapping your keyboard's PageDown and PageUp keys to functions as right and left arrows. The simple and free way to do this without installing any software is a quick modification to Windows' registry:

1 - Create a new text file and open it.
2 - Copy and Paste into the text file the following three lines:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout]
    "Scancode Map"=hex:00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,03,00,00,00,4b,e0,49,e0,4d,e0,51,e0,00,00,00,00

3 - Save and close the text file.
4 - Change the .txt extension at the end of the filename to .reg (To do this you must have Windows Explorer's option set NOT to "Hide extensions of known file types")
5 - Right click the file and select "Merge"
6 - Reboot (or just log off and back on)

Both the keyboard and the remote are now remapped. The PageUp and PageDown keys (left and right buttons on the remote) work like left and right arrow keys now. Thus the remote will advance and reverse slides whether the active windows is the Presenter view window or the slideshow window itself.

By the way, you can still page up and down if you need to. Just turn off Number Lock, then use the 9 and 3 keys on the numeric keypad. With NumLock off the 9 and 3 work like PageUp and PageDown, even while the regular PageUp and PageDown are remapped to function as arrow keys.

Not graceful, but it gets the job done.

    To undo it:
1 - Press Winkey+R (or click "Start" then "Run...")
    2 - Enter "regedit"
3 - In the left column, by expanding the folders, navigate to
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout
4 - Right Click on "Scancode Map" and delete.
5 - Reboot (or just log off and back on)

Registry editor is not a toy, and you can incapacitate your computer if you mess around in there.

4-0 out of 5 stars Works very well, burns batteries, September 2, 2006
If you want a simple, straightforward presenter to click through Powerpoint slides, this one works very well. I bought it at Staples after my old presenter died. Installation is very simple, completely plug and play, and it worked right away. Buttons for advancing slides, for going backward, blanking screen, for the laser pointer, and another I haven't used so I can't remember what it is for. I have not tried to use it for anything besides Powerpoint, on a Windows XP laptop. I use it for large lecture classes, where I want to control when I change the slide, so it doesn't matter that there is no timer. Laser works fine. Takes 1 AAA battery, so it's easy to replace. The big problem, though, is that you'll be replacing the battery a lot. One week after classes started, I've replaced the battery once already, and I'm about to replace it again. Part of the problem is that I keep forgetting to turn off the on/off switch at the side, which is very inconspicuous; but also there is no battery indicator, and, really, it just burns batteries pretty fast. If you want a simple presenter for occasional use, this may be it. But I will eventually replace it for one that doesn't use batteries so fast.

5-0 out of 5 stars Does just what it says it will do, February 11, 2007

I'm a Community College instructor and have found this to be an invaluable tool. The newer projection system we use doesn't allow remote advancement of slides. This inexpensive tool does just what it says and works perectly and without fail. It was as easy to install as a flash drive. I'm now able to interact with my classes instead of being held hostage behind the lecturn in order to advance slides. I also really like the darken feature and use it anytime I think a class is copying power points instead of interacting with each other on the subject. Rate 5 stars because I can't give it 6.

2-0 out of 5 stars If only it would always turn on, March 8, 2007
Once I got this device to turn on, it worked really well. Range was great, the laser is bright enough. It's easy to get to the batteries. The control buttons are intuitive enough that I never have to look at the presenter to know what I'm doing. Although if you try to do two things at once with your presentation hand, you can easily hit a wrong button.
The main problem is getting the device to turn on. I struggled twice for over 10 minutes not knowing if it would ever activate. When it did activate, I couldn't determine what got it to work all of a sudden.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wireless Controller for PowerPoint, November 9, 2006
I have found this item very useful in wirelessly changing the slides for PowerPoint presentations. The laser pointer works without any problem. For the price, it cannot be beat. Other more expensive solutions have many more bells and whistles but for just pointing and changing slides, this is all I need.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very handy item, March 27, 2007
Great item for presenters. Installation worked well with my laptop, just plug and play. Nice size in my hand and slide advance controls work very well.

The only downside is there is a small on/off button that is on the side of the unit. Its very hard to miss and if you dont notice it and turn it on you may think your unit is not working. I would have given it 5 stars but the silly instructions didn't point this little on/off switch to me so it gets 4 stars. Highly recommended though if you do any powerpoint presentations.

4-0 out of 5 stars Works well... but flimsy construction., February 18, 2007
I purchased this device primarily to replace a different wireless presentation remote with very limited range. I must agree with the other reviewers in that the Targus Wireless Presenter with Laser Pointer works well enough as a wireless remote, and a laser pointer. The range is at least as good as advertised.
What no one else has mentioned however, is the very flimsy plastic casing used on both the remote itself and the usb receiver dongle. I could easily crush the remote with my fingers, and I am not overly strong. The dongle is even more flimsy. I wonder if this device will hold up to the rigors of travel, even if some care is taken.
In addition, the buttons feel cheap. Pressing any of the buttons, but especially the laser button does provide some positive feedback. Unfortunately, the feeling is more akin to what I would expect from a three dollar flashlight than a presentation remote.

3-0 out of 5 stars Amazon ships a different model than pictured, February 7, 2009
Apparently Targus has changed the design of their model AMP03US. I received my order directly from Amazon and it looks completely different than what is pictured, but has the same name and model number. The new version is all black, with no red button or rounded top...the worst part is that the Bluetooth connector is less than half the size of the original version. It fits into the battery compartment of the clicker, which is supposed to be a handy feature, but you practically have to use your fingernails to get it in and out of the USB port.
Also, the buttons, although rubberized, tend to click very loudly, making the presentation less seamless and more mechanical.
I will be returning this new model and will seek out the original version from another Amazon seller, as the old model has a normal size bluetooth key.

4-0 out of 5 stars Works very well, but switch is annoying, December 13, 2007
This device is only good for basic operations of forward/backwards of the slides and screen blanking. It does not move the mouse around or anything. It is easier to hold than the others I have used and that is a big plus.
The switch on the side is annoying as it is hard to move and if you leave it on, the battery will run down. They should have used a slide to power on style (with an off timer after non-use).
The laser pointer works well and the shape of the device makes it easy to hold steady.
Note that if you are presenting to a live audience, the laser pointer style is perfect. If you are presenting across the internet (e.g. GoTo meeting), then the laser is worthless and you should consider the more expensive ones that let you move the mouse cursor around.

1-0 out of 5 stars Lousy product. Didn't work at all., November 10, 2007
I was very excited to receive this product and I was anxious to use it.
It did not work out of the box (It is not "plug and play" as they advertize). I followed instructions to resynchronize, I changed batteries, I tried it on 3 different computers and it did not work at all. It's a piece of junk, if you ask me. I'm returning it. Looks and feels cheap too. I won't buy another Targus product. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Not as Represented, February 6, 2010
I own several laser pointers. The dot from this one is a blur. This pointer is dimmer than any of the others I have purchased even though it claims to be 50mw and higher wattage than any of the others own. What a dissappointmentDO NOT BUY THIS ITEM!!!!! It fades in and out. Appears to get a little brighter after a period of using it but is still a blurry dim green light.

The focus point is 3" in diameter at 10 feet, hardly a pointer. There is no visable light beam, so it cannot be used to direct peoples' vision in a certain direction.
I purchased this to use as a pointer to the stars for classes I teach in astronomy.
It does me no good to have a dot of green that is absorbed after 40 feet and no beam light to direct the persons eyes.
It is a total waste of money and I was scammed.
    Save yours.

1-0 out of 5 stars Avoid this one., October 20, 2010
This laser, at least the one I received, was very anemic. Though advertised as a 50mW device it just barely outperforms my old red laser. Nothing like other green lasers I have seen in action that seem to shoot a beam of light into infinity in the night sky. I wish I had read all of the reviews before I impulsively ordered this one. They would have been a red flag. Kudos though to Amazon for making the return process utterly painless.

    2-0 out of 5 stars Less power than a real 5mw, November 13, 2010
My fellow astronomers who own real 5mw laser pointers have a brighter beam than this 50mw. I was ignorant about the cheap knock offs until I purchased this. You will be better off putting your money into a good 5mw that is the real thing.

1-0 out of 5 stars LOW BATTERY LIFE, October 14, 2010
The battery life is very short. The ones it came with lasted 5 minutes. Then i purchesed Duracell and it lasted about 7 minutes.

    5-0 out of 5 stars 50mW Green laser, September 20, 2010
Well, I doubt that this laser is truly near 50mW but for the price I think it is very good. The beam is visible especially in a dark space and as soon as I took it out with me people where amazed by the bright beam.
It is not a toy and should be used with care and caution. It is not suitable for playing with pets as even reflections can cause blindness at these power levels.
The build of the devices is solid although I don't like the sound of the metallic button shaking around in its socket.

I have no regrets with this purchase.

    2-0 out of 5 stars 50 mw.....I don't think so..., July 5, 2010
Yeah I caught the laser fever over the 5mw green laser....then I found this 50mw green laser and thought I struck gold....being fairly new to online purchasing, I think this was an eye opener to the outright FALSE advertising of online retailers. I can't believe they get away with this bs! Yeah the 50mw laser pen MIGHT have shined brighter than the 5mw for about 5 min....only to quickly fade to EXACTLY the same strength as the 5mw!

5-0 out of 5 stars Quality Control?, July 5, 2010
This item purchased from this seller Green Laser Pointer 50mW- APPEARS to be the same as another sold at AMZN - in fact - i WANT to be relatively certain it IS - the other choice -which is not fulfilled by AMZN -- 50mw 532nm Astronomy Powerful Green Laser Pointer-- has many more reviews and a SIMILAR percentage of positives - I am hoping the one I returned is just an example of poor QC - and the replacement I ordered - again - AMZN fulfilled/PrimeIn2DayzIluvIt! --lives up to my expectations - I DO PROMISE TO UPDATE THIS IF IT IS POSSIBLE TO DO SO -I purchased a <30 mw model from another vendor a few days before -I compared the 2 side by side in daylight/darkness/indoor/out -w/ standard alkaline Batteries in the <30 and LI in the <50-as a final test--did it W/ SIMILAR BATTERIES at 1st -the <50 was very noticably dimmer in every circumstance -
incidentally - anyone who is paying attention should note that ALL IIIa lasers are <5mw and IIIb lasers are >5 but <50...
SO-- I would have been rating this a 5 star had it been --50% brighter? - one reviewer on the other option stated '15/20mw out-of-the-box' (sans pot mods)

Great fun on the 4th - subsidizing CN notwithstanding -ALWAYS BUY AMAZON!:-)- you ARE free to wear sunscreen :-)

Update as promised -(sorry took so long) It appears i was correct - likely a QC issue - the replacement has been working perfectly for months - and I use it alot! - Hopefully i get lucky again and won't have to return - plan to order more:-)

Welp - looks like this one will have to go back - hope/wish Amazon had some control over the quality of products shipped - i realll would love to get a bunch of these for frinds - but --how can i deal w/ repeated returns? I mean --it's great that it's Amazon fulfilled and relatively hassle-free to return -- but stil-- returning ITSELF IS a Hassle...

Also-- just WHO is supplying them?
