5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Warranties, April 10, 2009
Squaretrade offers the most affordable and dependable warranties of any company I have seen. Every electronic I purchase has a Squaretrade warranty. Although I have only made two claims since I started with Squaretrade I was pleasantly surprised that my claim was handled within days not weeks like other companies and I received a full refund for my product's purchase price, not some refurbished piece of junk. I would definitely recommend Squaretrade to anyone.

1-0 out of 5 stars Caution! Read the fine print!, November 18, 2010
The link to the actual product service contract (psw) was dead. I could not view the psw prior to purchase. Anytime someone selling me says "trust me" YET what is is writing does NOT match what they say then that is unacceptable. Discrepancies: 1) YOU must pay for shipping the item back; sure , they provide a so-called "free pre-paid shipping label" however, the value of the shipping is deducted from your settlement. 2) Did you ever plug your electrical item in to an outlet? Was that outlet surge protected? Are you ready for this... YOU may have to remove your surge protector and ship it to SQ for "inspection". So many exclusions that I'll just quote a few: "INTERMITTENT ISSUES ARE NOT CONSIDERED PRODUCT FAILURES". Failures related to "electrical supply" NOT covered!!! 3) "Although We maintain a record of Your Service Agreement purchase, You must have in YOUR possession a copy or Your Original purchase receipt in order to present a claim.

The last clause of the contract is titled "ENTIRE CONTRACT". In the event that the nice sales folks over at SQ Trade make any verbal assurances or even if they send you an "email clarification", the ENTIRE CONTRACT clause nullifies any verbal or email assurance which you may have received from a S-trade employee. This clause prohibits any of their employees from modifying the original service contract. The truth of the matter is that any service which SQ TR is providing at this point is repair or replacement that is "goodwill". In other words, they really are not obligated, by terms of your service contract, to provide repair or replacement in most any foreseeable failure scenarios. Why do you have to retain the original receipt if you have already submitted a copy? How readable will your original receipt be in three years? If we have learned anything since 2008 it is that the fine print DOES matter. Sooner, rather than later any of the provisions may be enforced to improve the bottom line.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent! Best warranty service offered, period!, April 27, 2010
Square-trade has by far been the best warranty service I have ever owned. They live up to their word, and deliver ever time. I had to make 2 claims on a refurbished xbox 360, and both were incredibly easy. I was surprised. No fees, no questions. Just simply works. Would recommend for any product on the market. Best warranty service, period.

5-0 out of 5 stars Customer Service - First Class, March 4, 2010
I purchased a refurbished HP Slimline Computer 12/08. SquareTrade advertised their warranty that was 1/3 the cost from HP, so I signed up. The motherboard went out within the first year. I discovered it only had a 90 day warranty so I called SquareTrade to discuss my problem. I was ready for the usual run around which I was sure would result in a statement about it not being covered. That was not the case at all. I spoke with a very polite lady who asked me a few questions and within 5 minutes they said they would reimburse me for my full purchase price. AND THEY DID!!!! What a surprise. A company that actually did what they said they would without any hassle or a hundred hoops to jump through. I just insured my new external drive with them and I will continue to insure anything I can with them. They stand behind their word and have an excellent price. Thank you SquareTrade.

5-0 out of 5 stars Don't leave without it!!, April 10, 2009
I'm now at the point where I purchase a Square Trade Warranty with anything I buy of value. How many times has something broken on you the week AFTER the warranty expired? Getting years of coverage on any expensive product you buy is important. The prices they offer are almost half of what the retail chain's will offer you. Sometimes even covering it for a longer period of time too! I also like how easy they make it to transfer your warranties in case you sell your gadgets. Another great feature is having all your warranties in one location. Makes it much easier to track and find later. Protect your stuff with Square Trade every chance you get.

5-0 out of 5 stars Handled issue quickly and with no headache., December 7, 2010
My tablet PC simply would not turn on. After discussing the case and unsuccessfully attempting to fix the computer over the phone, I sent the product to the repair center who was also unable to fix the problem. Squaretrade refunded the cost of the item without and arguing or headache. I will definitely use them in the future.

Excellent customer service and fast fix of paperwork. No arguments and excellent follow up. Extremely happy with this transaction.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good deal but needs better communications, February 2, 2010
When I purchased a GPS unit on a popular auction site a year and a half ago the seller included a 3 year Square Trade warranty for an extra $10. Knowing the conditions a GPS has to work under, extreme temperatures, vibration, etc. that sounded like a good deal to me, so I paid the extra cost and got the warranty.

This past December the GPS unit started giving me problems, then finally died altogether, simply giving the GPS version of the BSOD. At that point I had completely forgotten about the warranty and just went out and bought a new GPS. Then the GPS in my other vehicle also died, and that one was only 2 months old, so I contacted the manufacturer to get it replaced under warranty, which made me remember the Square Trade warranty I'd purchased on the first unit.

I contacted Square Trade via my account on their web site and filed a claim for the original GPS unit that had failed. I received a message back from them within 48 hours, detailing a procedure for doing a factory reset on the unit, but no other instructions, and the procedure for doing the factory reset that was given was for a different model by the same company, and required holding down a button that didn't exist on my unit. The only option for contacting Square Trade about this was a telephone number.

I didn't realize I could also respond to the email (that part of the message got cut off somehow) and, seeing as I'm a disabled vet with a 60% hearing loss, telephones and I don't get along too well, so I figured I was out of options and just forgot about the claim.

A few days later I got a new email from Square Trade, inquiring about my claim and I was able to respond to that one and explain that the reset procedure didn't apply to my unit and that I'd already replaced it with a new unit.

The new customer service rep I was dealing with then encouraged me to send the old unit in anyway, and provided a shipping label for it.

Four days later I got a full refund for the full purchase price of the unit.

I'm pleased that Square Trade went the extra step of contacting me again after that initial email, and quite pleased with my refund. I give them top marks for that, but they do lose a couple of stars for poor communications, for that reset procedure email. If they take steps in the future to correct this problem I'd have no qualms about giving them top marks across the board.

5-0 out of 5 stars I buy SquareTrade warranties for all of my electronics now, May 5, 2009
My first SquareTrade warranty came from purchasing a refurbed XBox 360 on eBay. 6 months later my unit died on me. SquareTrade sent me a box with prepaid shipping label and after determining "multiple points of failure" SquareTrade cut me a check for the amount I paid for the unit originally. I've purchased warranties for my camera with accident coverage as well as laptop and wireless headphones. Their warranties are much less than those offered by the manufacturers or retailers. Check for yourselves! Their service is great for any purchase but especially great if you decide to get a refurbed device/unit that come with shorter warranties. 3 years with accidental coverage is pretty comforting if you can't just up and buy another iPod, phone, camera or laptop if you drop 'em.

I've been happy with their service/turnaround, their pricing, and their online account management. I would highly recommend SquareTrade for peace-of-mind!

5-0 out of 5 stars You can't get any better than this!, May 10, 2009
I have been using Squaretrade for a few years now. I have happily recommended it to my family and friends and they are all very satisfied with the level of customer service and consideration that they get. I cannot tell you how easy it is to file a claim and how helpful the representatives are. Truly, there have been absolutely no hassles when filing a claim or talking to the reps. I give them 5 LARGE stars because they mean what they say. Go Squaretrade... you can't go wrong with these guys!

5-0 out of 5 stars Spuartrade fixed my PS3, July 2, 2009
They did everything they advertised they would. My PS3 power died and it wasn't just a simple replace of power cord. They sent me the box, paid for the shipping to and from their claims department and had my PS3 back and in working condition in about a week. Not bad at all.

1-0 out of 5 stars Unable to reach customer service on the phone so I canceled the policy., February 8, 2010
I ordered a Garmin GPS for a birthday gift for a friend. Getting a warranty seemed like a good idea. I wanted to ask someone at "SquareTrade" about getting the name changed on the policy to the person receiving the gift (rather than mine, since I ordered the gift). I called their number no less than 5 times at different times of the weekday. On ALL occasions I ended up getting hung up on by their little phone computer system. If this is how they treat people before they have an issue, I can't imagine how it would be to file a real claim.

I submitted an email request (via the Amazon system) requesting to cancel the policy and a refund, which was honored (which would be the only good thing I have to say).

3-0 out of 5 stars Contradictions, and YOU, the buyer, lose!, July 13, 2010
(Please note update below. I have changed my rating.)

Their web site says: Contact us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!
Call us at 1.877.WARRANTY (1.877.927.7268)
The phone says: "Call during regular business hours." Since I don't know what time zone they are located in, I cannot know what RBH are.

Their Product description says: "Return postage both ways."
Their contract reads that I must pay the postage.

I am surprised that Amazon, a company with which I have had good experience, deals with this nonsense.

"Top rated" by whom? The few who do have a problem with the product? Why have a problem from the beginning?

Amazon, please explore this seller better!

UPDATE:
I have received an email from a supervisor admitting the errors in marketing messages, an apology, and an email correction that shipping will be paid by the company in the event of product problems (and a 30% discount on a future purchase of a warranty). My suggestion is to check that your contract matches the marketing claims of the company, as all of us should do with any purchase. I feel the company did correct its mistakes, but seems to have internal communication confusion.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Company to Work With, July 10, 2010
I recently purchased a second GPS (Garmin 265wt), and, because I've been so impressed with SquareTrade in the past, clicked on the SquareTrade link to purchase insurance for this unit also. I have never had to actually use one of these policies, but the company seems very professional, and the policies are reasonably priced.

I would like to offer a general 'heads up' - when I clicked on the warranty link on the GPS page, I had no idea it was for electronics items less than $ 50. I thought that the right policy value would be automatically linked. Later, when reading the warranty summary that I received by email from SquareTrade, I noted that it had the wrong value. I contacted Amazon, who referred me to SquareTrade. SquareTrade was excellent, and gave me clear directions for cancelling the first (less than $ 50) warranty and purchasing a replacement. SquareTrade indicated that there are sometimes 'linking' problems on the Amazon side, and you may get the wrong warranty. Be sure to look at your warranty summary when you get it. You only have 60 days to cancel a warranty without prorating kicking in.

In any case, I am very pleased with SquareTrade to date (again, I haven't had to file a claim).

Also, I think that Amazon was very responsive.

5-0 out of 5 stars They do what they say the do with no hassle!!, December 7, 2009
I bought a phone off of ebay and it stopped working. I sent it to them and since they couldn't fix it, I got a full refund. Squaretrade asked me how I wanted my refund. I aasked for paypal and it went right back into my account.

I have a warranty for my dehumidifier, my kid's dsi, and my new i-pod too! They sent me a free protector case for my ipod. I love this company.

5-0 out of 5 stars Car Amplifier warranty - Great results, October 30, 2009
Purchased this warranty for a new amp i bought from an eBay dealer. When I first received the amp, it was defective. Square trade responded and within days i had a replacement. Just over one year later, the amplifier shorted out again and caught on fire. I filed a claim to Square trade. They paid to have the amp shipped to them for inspection and within 1 day of receiving the amp they refunded my full purchase price. Very fast service. I will definitely use them for future warranties. Great Experience.

5-0 out of 5 stars Squaretrade has figured it out!, April 20, 2010
Squaretrade is the real deal. I have been a warranty admin for 20 years and know the heartbreak people feel when they think they have a covered repair only to find out they do not!! My experiences with square trade have been subperb!they did everything they advertised just as advertised with no headaches, no waiting and in the end replaced the unit without question! Normally I would be against buying any type of service contract, or extended warranty but after the experience with my GPS I swear by Squaretrade. I have now covered all of my new electronics. Squaretrade is the way ALL warranties should work, no fuss, no muss just repair, replace or refund period!SquareTrade 3-Year Electronics Warranty ($250-300 Items)

5-0 out of 5 stars Accidental Damge coverage saves the day!, July 20, 2010
Almost a year ago I purchased an Asus netbook and at the time I decided to take advantage of SquareTrade's 3 year warranty with accidental damage coverage. I was more concerned at the time with the atom processor possibly malfunctioning or a hard drive crashing than anything else. I had owned laptops for many years and never had an accident. This time was different. While attending a picnic for my local Linux Users Group , I had the misfortune of knocking the netbook (in its case) off of the picnic table. The short fall cracked the screen and I was sure that I was out a netbook and had not been planning to purchase any new computers for at least 2 more years. I remembered that I had purchased the SquareTrade warranty and when I checked it did have the accidental damage coverage. It only took minutes to file a claim on line and they e-mailed the shipping label and off it went to SquareTrade. No hassles at anytime in the process and I have a check from them for the original amount of my purchase and have replaced my netbook and I am extremely pleased with the whole experience.SquareTrade 3-Year Electronics Warranty Plus Accident Protection (Electronics $250-300)

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Service!, June 25, 2010
I had purchased a warranty through SquareTrade on a GPS system after recieving an email and looking at the website. Unfortunately, we had some problems with the GPS system so I called SquareTrade. The whole process was so smooth and I loved the fact that every step of the way was followed up by an email explaining everything. Everyone there was so nice and helpful. We did end up having to replace the GPS system, so they sent a check for a full refund to me. Not to mention the money I saved not using the store warranties. I will definitely purchase all warranties that I can through SquareTrade.

5-0 out of 5 stars SQUARETRADE WARRANTIES, April 20, 2010
UNFORTUNATELY I HAVE HAD TO USE 3 OF MY 10 SQUARETRADE WARRANTIES AND COULD NOT BE HAPPIER IN EVERY WAY. THE WARRANTY PRICES CAN NOT BE BEAT AND THE SERVICE IS MUCH BETTER THAN YOU COULD IMAGINE. DO NOT HESITATE TO USE THEM FOR EVERYTHING THAT NEEDS A WARRANTY.

5-0 out of 5 stars SquareTrade covers Microsoft's problem-prone product, September 17, 2010
I have been pleased with my SquareTrade warranty on my XBOX 360 Elite. I had to have my XBOX repaired once after buying it, so before the original warranty expired and because I had already had problems, I purchased an extended warranty from SquareTrade. I'm sure glad that I did! A couple of months later I encountered the RROD (Red Ring Of Death; stats say that this happens to 40% of XBOX 360 consoles). I contacted SquareTrade and they said I needed to send them a copy of the purchase receipt for my game console (which I recommend doing right after purchasing a warranty for those that are not organized). They confirmed that they had received the receipt and then I had to send them the console and accessories for them to confirm the problem. A week or so later I received a check for the full original purchase price of my game console. This would have been hundreds of dollars down the drain without the SquareTrade warranty. They proved their worth to me.

5-0 out of 5 stars I highly recommend Square Trade Warranty, April 27, 2010
I purchased a used electronic and almost considered not purchasing a warranty. I've since discovered that would have been a mistake. The unit stop working only after a few months. 5-0 out of 5 stars Square Trade Warranty Company, February 18, 2010
Square Trade Warranty company is absolutely FABULOUS!! I purchased a GPS one year ago and unfortunately the audio was very quiet, so much so that when going down the freeway you had to strain to hear it. Now mind you, I had this GPS for just short of a year and then remembered that I had purchased a warranty for it...I contacted Square Trade and the gentleman was so very courteous, kind, understanding, I actually felt like I was talking to a friend. I sent them the GPS as requested(Square Trade even paid for shipping) and within 2 weeks I had EVERY cent I had spent for the GPS REFUNDED to me. You cannot get better than that!! Thanks so very much Square Trade.

5-0 out of 5 stars SquareTrade Warranty Program, January 27, 2010
I have purchased all types of products and sometimes I would like a longer warranty. For example I purchased a fairly expensive razor and I went looking on Amazon to see if they had an extended warranty. After the regular warranty is up the extended warranty will kick in. That is only partly true since many warranties vary as to the level of service. I have used SquareTrade Warranties before with other products and could not find one for the razor. I then looked up SquareTrade on the internet and spoke with someone very personable that told me I could get a SquareTrade Warranty for my razor and I can call anytime 24 hours a day 7 days a week at 1-877-WARRANTY. After I purchase the item I have 90 days to get the warranty. The cost of the warranty varies as to the cost of the product and length of warranty. SquareTrade sent me a link to my email that sent me to Amazon purchasing the warranty I needed. SquareTrade also stated that the buyer can contact them after and they will put all the information in their system and when the warranty is needed the buyer will not need any paperwork. If the product is purchased through Amazon you only need the order number. The only downfall for this service is that SquareTrade does not replace the product if after you call their claims department to fix the item and it cannot be fixed. They will reimburse you if the item is fixed and if not they will reimburse what you paid for the product. I must tell you that I have not had to use the warranty service even though I have many SquareTrade Warranties. I can only tell you what is written and when I called to write this review what SquareTrade told me they do involving claims. I hope this helps a little. Always read the fine print.

3-0 out of 5 stars Buyer (still) beware, July 1, 2010
I purchased a warranty on Panasonic HP 55 noise canceling headphones purchased for my son. Initially liked the phones so much I bought a second pair for myself. Both stopped working at about 6 months. Tried to get warranty coverage online , but received an e mail answer stating ' accidental damage not covered". I never said there was an accident. I placed a call to Square Trade ( 10 min on hold) and was told the item was under manufacturer warranty. Panasonic denied this after 10 minutes on hold. A SECOND CALL to Square Trade (12 mins on hold) said mail the product to them (they sent a shipping label though I am not sure they pay for shipping) and I got a promise of a refund. After 32 minutes on hold I believe I will get my $ back ( about $40 minus the shipping) but am not 100% sure. Buyer beware- be persistent.

Bought this warranty through the ebay seller of a digital camera I bought for my daughter Christmas 2008. Well as you can imagine since I am writing a review the camera lens stuck, and no power here June 2010. Called them told them what was up. They sent me link to print a lable to ship it (free) Shipped it out determined not fixable refund full amount in my paypal account and in my bank account from there in less than 2 weeks. Can't pass a deal like that up! Will buy one of these again in the future.

5-0 out of 5 stars Squaretrade, August 27, 2009
Squaretrade is awesome. It is much cheaper than retail and department stores. I buy my warranties for everything from them from watches to washers and dryers. Just recently i called them to set up a claim to fix the color of my plasma tv......and they tried to fix it but when i was not satisfied they sent me my full purchase price.

thanks Square Trade!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Squaretrade is as good as their word! (don't throw away your receipt), April 6, 2009
I purchased a 42" flat screen tv a few years ago, and was naturally concerned about what to do after the 1 year manufacturer's warranty had expired. The store offered its own extended warranty program, but I was hesitant about putting down hundreds of dollars for a 3 year extended warranty. Surely there was something more economical with the same, or better service?

I heard, via word of mouth, of a third-party alternative called Squaretrade. Intrigued, I checked reseller ratings, and was very shocked to see a lifetime rating of 9.7. I read many of the reviews, and they all consistently praised ST's dedication to fulfilling its warranty promises. Of the few that were not pleased with ST service (and some of them were the customer's fault), I was impressed by the follow-up messages left by ST's representatives to resolve the situation.

Convinced, I ended up purchasing a 3 year warranty through Squaretrade, for just ~$40. ST runs monthly %-off discounts, so you can always get a very good bargain. To clarify, if I remember correctly, the 3 year warranty is really a 2 year warranty, since the first year overlaps with the first year of the manufacturer's warranty. However, you should read the fine print to double check.

Talk about knocking on wood. My TV broke recently, and so I submitted my claim form to ST, which primarily comprised faxing a copy of my receipt to them (don't throw it away!), and describing my problem. I was expecting a reply a few months later, but Squaretrade promises resolution in less than week. I was shocked to find in my email inbox, a message from ST indicating that since it was cost prohibitive to ship my TV back to them for repairs, they would instead be refunding my original purchase price in its entirety, through PayPal. Sure enough, the money was sent the next day.

This is legendary service, the kind consumers dream about. You can buy a ST warranty with complete confidence, and be assured of their guarantees. Regarding TVs, they will not cover certain issues, e.g. burn-in on a plasma, and lamp replacements on DLPs. Again, check the fine print (don't worry, there's not too much to read).

I'm going to be buying all my warranties through ST in the future, recommending them to my friends and families, and making sure my children, and my children's children buy Squaretrade warranties. I wholeheartedly recommend them (and no, I'm not getting paid by ST to write this review).

5-0 out of 5 stars Square Trade ROCKS!, March 9, 2010
I have never had a better experience with a warranty or a warranty company. I submitted my claim online and got a call from the Square Trade rep within 24 hours. He had downloaded the manual for my 47" Phillips LCD television and researched my problem. He gave me some suggestions that I tried when I got home. None of the solutions solved the problem so I called Square Trade later that day and explained the situation. The rep put me on hold for a couple of minutes and when he got back on the phone, told me that I would be getting a refund for the total amount I had paid for the TV. I was absolutely speechless! I expected I'd be taking the TV to a repair shop and possibly being reimbursed for the cost of the repair but even that can be a hassle with most warranties. The rep emailed an affidavit that I printed, signed, scanned and sent back to them and within 3 days my refund was in my PayPal account. I am still in awe with the ease of the transaction and the professionalism of the company and it's representatives. I have told anyone who will listen about this completely positive experience and will definitely continue to purchase all my warranties through Square Trade. This is an AWESOME company with AWESOME service.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent deal, March 2, 2010
I bought this when I bought the used TV. The TV went out within two months and Squaretrade was extremely quick in reimbursing my original purchase price. They even paid to ship it to them.

4-0 out of 5 stars sounds good, February 3, 2010
Although I have not had to use the warrenty, it sounded like a good deal. after reading comments by others who did need to use it, they all were very satisfied with it. everything I bought from amazon, I have been happy with.

4-0 out of 5 stars Squaretrade, January 11, 2010
I haven't purchased a Squaretrade Warranty yet. However I'm planning on getting two as soon as my two new LCDs get closer to the manufacture's warranty expiration date, so I can have the three full years of extended coverage. The reason for giving 4 out of 5 stars in this review is because this warranty is establishing their prices based on the TV purchase price rather than model number or other specific feature. That doesn't makes much sense whatsoever because the TV prices decay as musch as Cars. Instead I've seen in other electronics extended warranties that they based their prices depending on model number or size in the case of a TV. An LCD that worth $1,500 today is not going to cost the same in three years from now, by then it may worth $100. Where is the difference return from the extended warranty? I'm sure they keep their word about their service aggreement, and being sold at the Amazon the credibility should be even higher. So far, I'll make my purchase from "squaretrade" as time get closer to my TV mfg warranty expiration, but I'm going to keep searching for other extended services out there in the World Wide Web just to gather more information and make myself a little bit smarter. Of course, I'm not wasting money on more extended warranty, but I'm curious to learn how they operate. ... Read more

I purchased a two year warranty from Square Trade for my GPS. It recently broke after only one year of use. I received a full refund of my purchase price quickly and without any issues. It was a pleasure working with Square Trade. I have since purchased extended warranties for my laptop and iphone.

If squaretrades warrantry is as cheep as this company appears to be, I pray I never have to use it. Io sell a contract and then not supply a copy of said contract lends one to believe no such contract exists. Maybe the safe thing to do would be to cancel the contract, save your money, and hope nothing happens to your goods. Think thats what i'll do.

5-0 out of 5 stars can't get better than this, May 29, 2009
I have tried to use company warranties and fight and fight with manufactures. this time i bought a warranty from square trade and held my breath six months later the tv went dead. i reported it 24 hours later i was sent a link saying a refund was approved and a free mailing label to return it 2 days after they received it i got a refund. It can't get better than this !!! I know have 3 warraties with them and today it will be 4 with the one i bought for my replacement TV. great company

5-0 out of 5 stars So far, so good ..., February 19, 2010
I ordered the Mitsubishi WD-73C9, and a different warranty (provided by the same company) at the same time in November of 2009. I checked Amazon's website in December just to see if the product I originally purchased was still the same price. It just so happened to be cheaper (or so I thought).

I emailed SQUARETRADE asking to be refunded the difference. I immediately put the situation to the back of my mind, expecting a reply about a month later. To my surprise, a rep replied within the next business day.

The rep courteously advised me to cancel the first warranty I had in the system (which is VERY easily done by going to their website), and then place a new order for the correct warranty product. And the rep assured me that I would receive a FULL MONEY REFUND for the incorrectly purchased product after the cancellation. And the rep also said that since I've already emailed a copy of the receipt, of the television I purchased from Amazon, that I would not have to go through that process again.

So I did all of those things. And everything happened just the way the SQUARETRADE rep said it would. I recevied a FULL MONEY REFUND from the incorrectly purchased warranty product; placed a new order for the correct product; received confirmation for all of those previously stated transactions; and when I checked my account on SQUARETRADE's website, it shows that my receipt, for the television, has been appropriately associated.

Customer service is, so far, excellent! Let's hope I'll never have to use the warranty, but it is a peace of mind.

The TV was delivered to me on June 30 (READ THAT REVIEW) and I was surprised to realize that my purchased coverage started on the day I ordered the TV rather than when it actually went into service in my home.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Stand alone Warranty, April 27, 2010
I have used Square Trade Warranties for at least 5 items so far. Had to cash in on 2 of them since one was ipod and it cratered, and other was laptop and it died too. Square Trade first of all has the best priced warranties ( I dare you to compare to Best Buy and other places where you pay well over 100/200 for laptops) and these warranties are straight forward and without gimmicks. In both cases, my items were not repairable and they determined it pretty quickly and gave me the money for replacement and I am happy about that. No hassles, no arguments about value or how damage occurred, etc. Just straight across the board, you give them your side, they review the item and voila! presto, you are give the amount you insured. Now that is the right way to do business, since lets face it, when you are not able to use your ipod or laptop, you want to get back into gear as soon as possible and not have to wait for weeks, with Square Trade you can be up and running pretty quickly. Unfortunately they are no longer selling them in certain states, and my state is one of them, otherwise, I would keep on buying them again and again. If you are fortunate to live in states where they do sell, then definitely avail yourself of their warranties, you will be glad you did.

5-0 out of 5 stars Cheaper than other warranties and 1 week turnaround!, February 2, 2010
My laptop died Thursday, I filed a claim Friday, printed my shipping label, sent it out Monday, had my claim approved Thursday and money in my paypal account Friday (you can also have them mail you a check).

Compare this to waiting weeks or even months to get a warranty repair from Best Buy or the manufacturer, and then consider that squaretrade is usually way cheaper. What else is there to say? If they can't fix it, they pay you cash so you can buy a new system of your choosing, not some "comparable" refurbished unit they have lying around. When I had a question about packing up and shipping my laptop, their phone service was quick, friendly, and helpful. I'm never buying an extended warranty from anyone but squaretrade again.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Warranty On the Web, May 5, 2010
On first review I was denied my claim and was outraged by this decision so wrote an email entailing the reason the laptop was in the shape it was in when Square Trade took it in. I could tell I was dealing with real people with hearts and minds as opposed to people with a checklist and if it is not in the parameters of thecklist, it should be denied because, after reading my email, they overturned their decision. I have been let down by many companies who deal through the internet, but the SquareTrade team made me realize their are good people out there who care about their customers and are willing to do the right thing. I will use Square Trade with all of my purchases, both from electronic stores and internet because I feel they treat people fairly - the way they would want to be treated if they bought a policy throught the internet. 2 Thumbs up to Square Trade and I thank them and appreciate the time they took to reevaluate my situation and come up with the fair solution. Thank you, Square Trade - You will hear from me in the future.

By the way, I did not write this to get a special discount for my next purchase and do not even know if that happens; I just wanted the people know that when their dealing with Square Trade, their dealing with winners who do what it takes to make their customers feel like people and not just on some kind of scam that normally gets rejected in the end. As far as I could tell, the people at Square Trade are honest and reliable and I appreciate all they did for me in my first dealing with them, and will continue to use Square Trade because I believe in them, as a team, of people who will come to the right decision as long as your honest and tell the truth, and I think other people should know how reliable Square Trade is.

5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing Service, January 12, 2010
I had my netbook for a little over a year when it sustained water damage. Fortunately I had a Square Trade warranty with accidental damage protection. I filed a claim and they sent me a shipping label. Within a couple of days of receiving my netbook they had paid out the claim through Paypal (my purchase price, minus $50, because it was an accidental damage claim). Great communication from the beginning to the end of the process. If you're thinking about buying a Square Trade warranty, I would highly recommend that you go ahead and buy it. Otherwise, if something happens to your item, you'll just be out the money you spent.

5-0 out of 5 stars Square Trade is EXCELLENT!, April 22, 2010
I purchased a refurbished Dell Latitude laptop from Ebay and fortunately purchased the Square Trade warranty for 2 years. I knew that refurbished laptops had hard drives that could fail, as they are older, and mine did several months after purchase.

I called Square Trade and was asked a few questions and given instructions for downloading the prepaid UPS label to send the laptop to them. The progress of my claim was given to me via email every step of the way and I had my refund, literally within days!!

Everyone I spoke to was professional and the warranty claims process was hassle-free. I would definitely buy their warranties again for any of my electronic purchases, from Ebay or other retailers.

5-0 out of 5 stars SquareTrade Warranty a MUST!, October 4, 2010
I purchased this protection for my Toshiba 46" LED HDTV I purchased this past July, 2010. It is protection for an "investment" in a "substantial electronic purchase" and WELL worth the money, compared to the "out-of-pocket" costs on the chance that some unforeseen "quirk" or "defect" makes itself known shortly after the manufacturers warranty expires.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this product and suggest you consider it's purchase if you invest in expensive electronic equipment such as an HDTV, digital camera or camcorder or other electronic device. ... Read more

I can't really quote on Sqaure trade warranties since I have yet to put them to the test. I have 2 items that are warrantied with them because the customer reviews I have read quote Sqaure Trade as a 5 star warranty provider. Had I personally used the warranty/warranties I would have been able to give them an accurate star rating. They have been prompt and courteous with setting up the warranties I do have and for that I can give them 5 stars for that service. Hope I never need the warranties but I'm glad I have them and based on the 50+ reviews I have read I sleep better knowing that I picked Sqaure Trade. What sold me was their reasonable price and coverage of my warrantied items.

5-0 out of 5 stars Warranty coverage worth getting - plan covers DLPs too but make sure you let them know, March 28, 2010
I decided to purchase this warranty shortly after we ordered a Mitsubishi WD-73737 73-Inch 1080p 120Hz Home Theater DLP HDTV from Amazon, because Amazon recommended this service.

THE PURCHASE EXPERIENCE

Getting the warranty was relatively easy. I had a few questions because our TV is a DLP, not an LCD, Plasma or LED but, to my surprise the off-shore persons answering the phone - and it was easy to get to talk to a human - were able to intelligently search their knowledge base, find the definition of DLP, determine that my TV could be covered, correctly answer my question regarding the DLP's replacement lamp (no, it's not covered) and made a note in their system that my TV was a DLP.

Shortly after I actually completed the purchase at Amazon, I received an email from SquareTrade that had a printable copy of the service agreement/contract.

I was told over the phone that I had to get a userID/password at their site in order to be able to manage my coverage information. Once that completed, I was able to log in and retrieve my contract number and instructions on how to send SquareTrade my proof of purchase - simply paste Amazon's invoice into an email that has the contract number in the subject line.

SquareTrade then sent me an email that acknowledged me sending them my proof of purchase and advising me to keep the original because they were not going to actually verify my purchase until I made my first claim.

COVERAGE

It may be interesting to understand how coverage works without spending time on the phone with the company reps so, here it is.

- There is a 60-day full refund upon cancellation provision so, if you don't like the service agreement, it's easy to cancel.
- This coverage is concurrent with the manufacturer's warranty. In other words, this 4-year coverage begins on the day you sign for it but SquareTrade won't be taking claims from you while the manufacturer's warranty is still in effect. If your manufacturer has a one-year warranty on your TV, SquareTrade will cover it for years 2, 3 and 4.
- The value of coverage is limited to whatever you paid for your TV. This is important so, let me provide the full quote from the agreement:

[The total amount that We will pay for repairs or replacement made in connection with all claims that You make pursuant to this Service Agreement shall not exceed the purchase price of the Product, less taxes. In the event that We make payments for repairs, which in the aggregate, are equal to the purchase price or replace the Product with a new, rebuilt or refurbished product of equal or similar features and functionality, We will have no further obligations under this Service Agreement.]

- There is a 'no lemon' provision in the agreement which states that if the same item is repaired 3 times for the same defect within a year they will replace your TV with an equivalent product, at which time the warranty coverage ends - will not cover the replacement.
- If your TV is damaged by a power surge and you had a power surge protector they may ask you to send it over to them for examination (probably to see if they can get some money from the power surge protector manufacturer).
- Any time we are talking about replacements, they reserve the right to ask for the defective item to be sent to them and they will provide the box and the shipping label.
- They will help arrange for in-house repairs and pay the repair company directly.
- They do not cover scratches or cracks.
- They do not cover any damage caused by you doing terrible things to your TV - like leaving it out in the rain.
- There is no deductible.
- They will allow for the agreement to be transferred if you sell your TV - can do it at their Web site.

MY RATING

I haven't made any claim yet but, since Amazon stands behind this company and based on the service agreement and on my experience in dealing with the people at the call center, I am confident that this is a company worth doing business with so they get a 5-star.

5-0 out of 5 stars Ipod SquareTrade experience, March 18, 2010
I have to admit I was skeptical when I bought this warranty a WHILE back.I thought I was throwing away 20 bucks. Now, as it turns out, I have had to use it and I am MOST pleased with the handling and payout on the claim. The whole overall process was pretty simple and they kept me informed of each step. I had almost enough (I had to throw in 4 bucks) to replace my daughter's iPod Nano with an iPod Touch. Not only replacement but an upgrade to a new model with very little to almost no hassle! I am going to put another SquareTrade warranty on her new iPod Touch. This outfit is for real and they care about their customers. I am buying all my warranties on my electronics from SquareTrade from now on and telling all my friends too! Thanks SquareTrade!

5-0 out of 5 stars Square Trade takes the fear out of buying an extended warranty., March 19, 2010
Let me get this out of the way with some facts about my Squaretrade warranties (I have been purchasing for over 4 years):

-> Number of currently active warranty contracts I have with Square Trade: 17
-> Number of claims filed with Square Trade: 12 (5 of which were iPhone related)
-> Number of those claims that Square Trade approved and paid out: 12 (100%)
-> Number of those claims for items accidentally broken/dropped: 4 (All were paid out)
-> Problems I've had filing and receiving payout: ZERO, ZILCH, NADA, NONE

If you value your items, especially electronic ones that are really expensive; (iPhone = really expensive to replace), laptops, iPods, MP3 players, LCD TV's, Video Game Consoles, etc... I am 100% confident that Square Trade has got me covered.

Before I used to buy extended warranties from CompUSA, Apple Care, AT&T, Best Buy, Sears, Circuit City, you name it!! After spending hard earned $$$$$$ to protect my items from these retailers you'd think that they would provide hassle free service when replacing your items. But sadly no that is not the case. Every single one of those mentioned above I have done a claim or two and for every one, I have been hassled, jerked around, questioned, doubted, and even worse, REJECTED on my claims that they PROMISED to give me if something happened.

HANDS DOWN, SQUARE TRADE IS THE MOST HASSLE FREE EXTENDED WARRANTY COMPANY I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED.

The stats above are all true. I have never had a single hassle with a claim. Pretty much 100% of the process is done online; warranty purchase, tracking, claims, and even canceling a warranty. If you're not comfortable with that, even their customer service is top-notch. Worried about pricing? Square Trade FREQUENTLY provides coupons via email to get discounts on their ALREADY LOW prices!!

Square Trade is my ONE STOP warranty company. The items that I've mentioned that are covered by them come from a huge list of stores; Amazon, eBay, Best Buy, Apple Store, AT&T, Sears, Gamestop, and so on. As long as you can provide a receipt (electronically too!) you can have it covered. Also recently Square Trade made it even easier by giving customers the option of sending receipts via email instead of fax.

I'm sorry if I'm sounding like a salesman, but I love Square Trade that much!! I can go on and on about how easy they are to deal with, their affordable prices, streamlined claims, and great customer service. You have nothing to worry about here. Nobody wants anything they buy to break (except the iPhone, they seem to ALWAYS break, accidental or not!) but the piece of mind you experience when doing that first claim with them will turn you into a believer as well.

Honestly, give it a try!! What do you have to lose? You can even cancel your warranty and get a full refund if you don't think you want it (within the time policy of course). I even cover gifts I bought for friends and family. If you're like me, you care about your stuff and don't have wads of $$$$$$ to just replace things like candy, then you owe it to yourself to give Square Trade a try. I hope they make you a believer as well.

P.S. Oh did I mention that Square Trade is a MUST BUY, if you own an iPhone???? Just thought I'd mention. >_<

5-0 out of 5 stars SquareTrade Warranty Review, August 17, 2010
When I bought my Zune 8 GB Digital Media Player (Pink), it was refurbished, but SquareTrade 2-Year Electronics Warranty ($75-100 Items) offers warranties for both new and used items. The warranty was very reasonable. A few months down the road, I started having problems with it. I put in a claim with SquareTrade and they offered solutions on how to possibly fix it. Their solution worked the first time, but a couple of months later, it would not start up. I put in another SquareTrade claim and they again offered solutions, but nothing worked. Once I notified them that I could not get it working, they reviewed my claim and told me that I was eligible for a full pay-out. They gave me a link where I printed out a pre-paid shipping label. I had my money within a few days after mailing it to them. I had a wonderful, stress-free experience with them and recommend them to everyone I know.

5-0 out of 5 stars Square Trade Insurance, August 10, 2010
I bought a refurbished iPod 30GB and got the Square Trade insurance as well for $20.00. A little over a year later had problems with iPod not working in one of the speaker output channels. Went to Square Trade account filed a claim and answered the questions. Sent in the iPod, got word back confirming the problem and that I would be getting a full refund of what I gave for the iPod. It was well worth the $20.00 for the insurance.

5-0 out of 5 stars Square Trade Warranty, July 1, 2010
I would urge anybody that has an electronic item to get a warranty from Square Trade. I have purchased several warranties for various electronic items we have including ipods, laptops, X box and many others. This is the first time I have used the warranty and it was easy, painless and very fast from ship to refund. Don't buy a warranty from your local or national electronic store. Instead decline their offer and buy one from Square Trade online and you won't be sorry you did.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome & Fast Customer Service!, June 16, 2010
My sister let me know I was getting a camera for Christmas & when she did I looked into purchasing a SquareTrade warranty with accidental protection for it. I am so glad that I did because 2 weeks ago I dropped my camera while trying to take a picture & it stopped working completely with a lens failure. The next day I logged into my account, submitted my claim, and was sent an e-mail with a link to print out a pre-paid shipping label to send in my damaged camera. Less than a full week had passed by from when I first dropped my camera to when I was refunded the complete purchase price of it! :) I HIGHLY recommend using SquareTrade to protect your electronics & look forward to using it again for my next camera.

5-0 out of 5 stars Square Trade Warranty, June 17, 2010
Whenever I make a purchase from Ebay or Amazon, I always buy a warranty from Square Trade. I have put in 2 claims so far and each one was handled without any hassle. My claim was proccesed within a couple of days and my payment was put in my bank account. I recommend Square Trade to anyone who buys from eBay or Amazon, and you don't even need to keep the receipt to make a claim as Square Trade keeps the records for you. And it is so much cheaper than buying from the manufacture.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not much use during initial warranty period unless you drop camera, September 30, 2010
I bought this warranty with a Panasonic ZS7 digital camera. I had an issue with the camera rejecting its Panasonic batteries 45 or so days after purchase. Amazon wouldn't replace it and Panasonic would - with a refurbished one of unknown age and use (mine had taken 508 photos on a Mediterranian vacation - 7 days into a 17 day trip! Since I had also purchased a SquareTrade warranty I called them after returning from my trip to find that they would only defer to the manufacturer's warranty policy even though I had read in other reviews that they had stepped up to the plate and replaced items the manufacturer wouldn't. SquateTrade msut have written those reviews!

5-0 out of 5 stars I love Squaretrade!!, August 27, 2010
Their warranty is not only excellent but a lot more inexpensive then the ones sold at brick and mortar places and also online stores. I have had to use them once before and the whole process was easy! From shipping to them sending me a credit for the damaged camera!

5-0 out of 5 stars Hopefully not needed, July 1, 2010
Hopefully its something that I will never need. Its great to have "just in case". Great service---they called me to see if I had any questions after I bought the warrenty.

2-0 out of 5 stars OOPS!, October 21, 2010
This seemed a great product/ offer BUT I did not notice LOW_DOWN in the info that it is only applicable to items bought directly on Amazon. In fact, Square Trade did not point this out to me even when I faxed them my receipt. Only on inqiring about a claim was I informed that it was not a valid Warranty for that reason! They did promptly refund me fully and inform me that I could get the coverage but only by going to them/ their website directly, which I now have done. We'll see if it works out THIS TIME!

Also, be PROMT: their coverage begins immediately ONLY IF receipt is FAxed to them within 24 hours, otherwise there is a 30 day (or more) waiting period.

4-0 out of 5 stars Appreciate the value of this warranty, August 11, 2010
This warranty seems to be a good value for the price paid - have not had a chance to use it (hopefully never will), so must give this recommendation with that caveat! But the cost is less than in a brick and mortar retail store. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great customer service., September 23, 2010
When I purchased the warranty, the confirmation email from Square Trade warranty went to my Junk file. So when I contacted them about the missing warranty, they called me to make sure that the new warranty info email will not go to my Junk mail again.

5-0 out of 5 stars Allows you to "take a chance" with electronics, August 12, 2010
One thing I think is great about SquareTrade warranties is they allow you to try out brands that may not have the best reliability but have good features and price, get a warranty and if it breaks you are covered;-) I have been very pleased with SquareTrade's warranty prices and they were great the one time I did need to "cash in".

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Warranty!!, August 3, 2010
This was the easiest warranty. I bought the drops and spills warranty with my new camera because I tend to break things a lot. Sure enough I broke my camera within a month of getting it. Square Trade sent me the money for my new camera + a 10% bonus because I decided to get payed out with an amazon gift card. That way I just went online and could buy any new camera I wanted (didn't have to be sent the exact same camera). Very very easy and quick turn around time!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great warranty company!, May 13, 2010
Squaretrade is quick and easy to use. And so much cheaper, I will never buy another store warranty. My netbook died after a year and a half of use, I called Squaretrade, their friendly and helpful staff told me that I would have to ship it to them. They emailed me a prepaid UPS label. A week later I received a full reimbursement of the purchase price! They definitely earned my repeat business!

5-0 out of 5 stars Square Trade Warranty - Simply Amazing, April 20, 2010
Simply put, there is no company I've ever seen that is as great as Square Trade. I've used their service on two warranties so far, and both times the service was unbelievable. I tell all my family and friends to SKIP store plans and purchase the Square Trade warranty for every electronic purchase, including appliances, they make. Not only is it far more affordable, their service will make you ask, "Why can't all companies be this great?"

4-0 out of 5 stars Good so far, but have not made a claim, July 3, 2010
I am happy with the terms of the warranty and the price. The company actually called me to find out if I had received my warranty via e-mail, which I had. I hope I never have to use it, but it is good to know it is there.

5-0 out of 5 stars evaluation of SquareTrade warranties, May 6, 2010
I have many items warrented through Square Trade and I just had to make a claim. With in 48 hours, I had tried their suggestions, placed a claim as the suggestions did not resolve the problem and my money was returned to my account for the product. This was excellent service. Thank you.

5-0 out of 5 stars SQUARE TRADE WARRANTY GIVES A+ SERVICE!!!, April 29, 2010
I purchased a Dell Latitude laptop from a seller on eBay in December of 2009, and by March of 2010 it had totally died. It would not work no matter what I tried. Luckily, I was smart enough to purchase a warranty on it from Square Trade. They immediately sent me e-mail instructions and a pre-paid return postage slip. I sent it to them and my refund was submitted to my PayPal account within 7 days. I would recommend Square Trade Warranty to anyone, especially if they are spending over one hundred dollars on an item. Outstanding service and very friendly customer service representatives.
